 "Madame Mathilde Loisel is blessed with great beauty but little wealth. Though she dreams of attending parties and balls wearing sparkling jewels she is married to a low-paid clerk of modest means. Her husband sets the story in motion when he attains an invitation to a party in a quest to make her happy"

 The last sentence of the story is so tragic! I feel so sad for her. What do you think of this story?

    I think she deserved to pay back the necklace but i disagree with her to through that hardship for 10 years.Eventhough, she need to take a lesson for being greedy and too ambitious to flirt the ministry but i think the possible way for her is to tell the truth to her friend and ask a forgiveness. -Aina B3T19

    She should have been more faithful and just tell the truth to her friend when she lost the necklace. However,my deepest sympathy towards her husband as he too had to suffer for the things his wife did.     In my opinion, the truth must be told to her friend earlier. Then she wouldn't be suffering for long time for just a fake jewellery. From the first thing that her friend can easily lend her the jewellery, it must be not that expensive.     In my point of view, she should have not pretend to be a rich woman when she actually had been living in poverty. She was afraid if her friend were to know that she had lost the necklace.     Honestly, i feel pity for them...suffering so many years of hardwork for something they would not own...they might have regret their lives for doing so. Madame Mathilde Loisel should have been grateful and not asking for more as her husband himself cannot control her wife's greed. After it all happened I personally think they should buy back the neck lace for 500 francs from M.Forester and sell it to get all the money back. They might get back more money from it probably.

    I think that the main problem is Mme.Lois is not happy with whatever she has in her life. If this problem solved by her husband earlier, they would have led a better life. Another weakness I found is the husband, he could not control his wife by himself and worst of all he couldn't discuss to her wife to explain the real situation and his perception. If he did that before, it is possible that his wife would have changed and shouldn't have to face the problem they faced for 10 years in the story. Furthermore, I personally think this story gave us a good message, telling us to speak the truth boldly no matter what happens so we could live a better life. As an example, if Mme.Lois and her husband told Mme.Forester the truth they could have avoided the miserable life they led for 10 years.

    In my opinion, the wife has to be more understanding. It's okay if you have a desire to be attractive in a luxury way as long as we afford it.     In my opinion , this story has a good storyline and there is nothing for the woman to be blame of but everything change since she lost the diamond necklace . i wish if she could have a little bit courage in her soul to tell the truth about lossing janie's necklace , then she could safe her valuable 10 years with her husband rather than suffering to paid off the debt . it was so pitiful when later she discovered that the lost diamond necklace was a false one . moral of the story , in this life it is okay for you to have a luxury things and so on but you have to think of your capabilities and wealth . second , to be a good head of household , a man should govern his wife action's rather than allow her to fullfill her desire but later they would regret their action .     I sincerely think that it is a need for the girl to understand the importance of accepting her living circumstance with full and deep gratitude, and abundance will fill her emptiness, without pretending to be riCH jus to live a happy and contented life.The truth is after being "rich" in how and what she did had actually brought her in trouble and I don't think she accomplish the happiness she thinks she deserve in the end.the story does teaches me two values which is we should be satisfied with what we have and what we are and all the time,we must hav the courage to confess our own mistake instead of running away from situations and turning back.

    I think she supposed to tell truth story to her friend. But then she can apologised and ask what she must to do. If her friend told she must pay back 5 hundred francs because it was false only.     Pity how yourself made you live in misery for decade. Wanting to be cheerish and attention are normal for all women but we need to think of the consequences of our action. Im sorry to the husband, all he wanted was for her to be happy. But she was overboard eith herself and preparing it for that one night.     I think there is no need for her to attend the party because she already know that they are not from a well-known people but she willing to use a lot of money for her attire and willing to borrow a diamond necklace from her friend without thinking the risk as she know she want to be the prettiest and look-rich people on that party.     In my opinion, i thought that the both couples were very dumb. They don't think wisely and just going to jump into one solution of their problems without thinking others method.     Based from the story, what I can say is that both of them did not make the right and decision and also did not think wisely before making the decision. They could be smarter by telling the truth to the necklace owner and then only they should decide what should they do. Plus, the wife should have not asked anything beyond her husband's limit. The husband also should be more strict to his wife as a man is the leader of a family. Last words, we should live our life who we are and never pretend to be somebody else

    In my opinion,she didnt felt grateful at all for what she had. Eventhough she is poor, she had the most priceless husband who is trying to make her happy again with all his effort.
    At the end of the story, she deserved for what she had done for being ungrateful and materialistic. She supposed to tell her friend first about it, and then decide on what to do about it. Yes, she feels afraid for the consequences, but it is the best thing to do if she dont want to received that kind of luck.

    this story is really interesting and i enjoyed reading the story. I didn't even expect the ending of the story could be tragic like this. It is quite a plot twist. I think this story really give us some moral values and it is really related to our life. We should be more grateful in on everything we had. Ungrateful action might lead to more tragedy or hardship just like in the story I also think that we should speak honestly even the truth is really heartbreaking. Unfortunately, i think she deserves to get a hardlife because she is greedy and materialistic even she is actually poor.     I enjoyed reading this story . In my opinion , we should be grateful with what we have. Although both of them live in poverty life , Loisel has a gorgeous appearance that make many people adorable with her beutiness. Because of that, she must be proud of herself. The life full with luxury and fake just make your life such a wasteful. Luckily , she had a husband that was so kind who is trying his best to make his wife happy. At the end of the story , i think she deserved what she had done , being materialistic and greediness. We must be honest in our life so that we can live happily.     In life, we should be honest. From this story, we learn that the greedy and materialistic person do not have any benefit at the end of her life.     It' s nothing wrong for people desiring for luxury and glamour. But in my opinion, if you really want something, you should have a strategy, and for archieving such luxurious life, the women should be more driven and need to be doing this with her husband, it's something that has to be done in a long run. The woman was passive, said that she had no desire to be loved, married to rich guy, but yet she keep thinking about being borned delicated, she was not grateful, she could had lived a happy life if she is being grateful. In my opinion, in life when you desire for something, make sure you worth it, the necklace is something she couldn't afford to have at the first place. Being poor is nothing to be ashamed of, think about being rich while doing absolutely nothing indeed should one feels ashamed. And fyi.... i expected how the story will end. Haha

    This is indeed a good story. In my opinion , we have to start appreciating with all that we have in life. Appreciate every little thing in life.     In my opinion, it is not a fault for a woman to chase for a nice appreance and her beauty with her own ability. However, the vanity is the great flaw of the woman in the story. She should learn to appreciate with what she has, like her beauty. She is a pretty woman also even though she has no any jewellery. She should know about that and try to appreciate with that. She also has a husband who love her so much. However, because of she's trying to be elegant, that's not suitable for her, as her result, she has to pay for her vanity. From this, we should learn to appreciate everything we have to have a happy life, and also we should desire for anything which is afforable only.
